When?

Mid-April; check the precise holiday dates and local activities.

Khmer New Year follows its own calendar, generally around mid-April.

Usual period; not a confirmed date for a future edition. Check the organiser.

Things to do

Attend announced public activities at a pagoda and ask what is open to visitors.

Transport & arrival

Trà Vinh is one possible setting; communities elsewhere have their own programmes. The map point indicates the Âng pagoda area.

Visiting respectfully

Ask permission for portraits and recordings. Keep routes clear and follow participants’ and organisers’ instructions.

Good to know

This is a religious family celebration. Do not automatically equate it with tourist water festivals elsewhere.

Visit length (suggestion)

Half a day at a public programme.
