Nam Du — Island Reefs
The archipelago has coral areas around several islands. A beach day on Hòn Lớn is not the same as a confirmed reef trip.

Access & current caveat
Check current conditions and access with a local operator or manager. This overview does not authorise water entry everywhere.
From shore or by boat?
For the described island reefs, expect a boat trip. Ask explicitly about the snorkelling place, for example around Hòn Dầu, and do not swim independently from the harbour.
Things to do
Choose a guided reef stop with a small local boat and allow for weather cancellations.
Typical season
December–April is a useful drier window; monsoon winds can affect connections.
What might you see?
Coral and reef fish occur here; current visibility and condition need local assessment.
Experience & guidance
This is a snorkelling option; a current certified scuba service is not confirmed here. Choose guidance appropriate to your swimming ability.
Transport & arrival
Take a confirmed passenger boat from Rạch Giá and arrange a local excursion boat separately.
Protect the reef
Do not touch coral or animals, stand on reefs or feed fish. Use established entry points and respect local conservation zones.
Practical planning
Before paying, ask for the exact water site, guide, flotation equipment and cancellation policy. Wind, waves and tides override monthly guidance.
Allow time
A half or full day on the water; allow a spare day for weather cancellations.
